过了半个世纪还在传唱，这就是经典。
殿堂级英国乐团披头四（The Beatles）在 1970年5月8日推出《Let It Be》专辑时，已正式解散一个月，这张专辑大部分的歌曲其实早在前一张专辑《Abbey Road》发行前就已录好，但因为不满意成品而一直没有推出。没想到上架时，竟成了披头四第12张也是最后一张专辑了。
《Let It Be》收录在披头四（The Beatles）于1970年5月8日发行的同名专辑中。此曲在同年3月6日已以单曲形式推出。
披头四解散前，团员之间纷争不断，标题曲《Let It Be》是保罗麦卡尼（Paul McCartney）作品，当时他就为乐团内部丛生的问题感到心烦意乱，成员约翰连侬（John Lennon）、灵高史达（Ringo Starr）和佐治夏里逊（George Harrison）多年没有现场演奏，早失去默契与凝聚力。后来保罗梦到早逝的母亲安慰他说：“It will be all right, just let it be。”（就会没事的，就让它顺其自然），便以此为灵感创作出了这首歌。
保罗表示，那时正值他人生中的黑暗时光，创作《Let It Be》是他驱逐这些恶魔的方法。这首作品曲调单纯、歌词浅白，配上摇滚式的编曲，让歌曲添了激励感觉，符合了歌曲要传达的精神，是别太执著，尽力了，剩下就让它自行发展。
《Let It Be》在没有特别被看好的情况下，反而取得了商业与艺术上巨大成功，它还在《滚石》杂志的“史上最伟大的500首歌曲”榜单中排名第20位，也在其“最伟大的100首披头士歌曲”榜单中排名第8位。
